Trend is a term to use loosely

 

As we are in the throws of another year of design exploration, it's time to delve into the trends that are shaping our spaces for the rest of the year and beyond.

I use the word ‘Trend’ loosely, as these are more one way transitions that will stick around for a long time to come.

 

 

 

  

  

 

Nature Inspired | Bringing The Outdoors In

 

 

This isn't new too the scene but it focuses on 'more is more' fill every corner, vase, bowl, console, kitchen bench with elements from the outside.

 

 

In 2024, we're bringing the outdoors in with a vengeance. Biophilic design is what the pro’s are calling it. It emphasises natural elements and greenery and is set to take center stage. Think living walls, indoor gardens, and earthy color palettes that evoke a sense of calm and connection to nature.

 

I mean the ideal would be to build a home, with glass windows around a gigantic old tree but if we are being realistic it’s all about potted plants, think fiddle leaf, olive tree’s or impossible to kill - Snake plants. Mix the heights & texture of the pots.

 

Connect your interior to nature, on your walks collect twigs & palms or in your bowls & trays add some driftwood & beach finds.

 

Maximalist Revival

Sorry, Minimalism, who? 

 

This year, we're embracing the bold and the beautiful with open arms. Maximalist interiors, characterised eclectic patterns, distressed finishes and statement pieces galore, are making a triumphant return. It's all about expressing your personality loud and proud and we are here for it.

 

 

 

  

Infuse your space with energy and character, inviting exploration and celebration of individual style. Bold expressions of personality are making a comeback as maximalism takes center stage.

 

It’s no longer one size fits all, we can mix era’s, styles, shapes & sizes.

Say no to mass produced & dust off your old vintage pieces that have been sitting in the cupboard all those years.

Welcome to the future, where technology and design go hand in hand. Smart homes are becoming smarter than ever, with integrated tech features seamlessly woven into the fabric of our living spaces. 

 

From voice-activated assistants to smart appliances, the possibilities are endless. I mean who wants to get up off the couch to charge their phone? That’s so last season.

 

Keep exposed charging area’s & power cords to a minimum, completely out of sight where possible. Embrace any form of tech that simplifies or tidies your device /tech space.

 

 

 

Cultural Fusion (Not a cuisine)

 

 

 

 

Whilst this heading might make you hungry, it's not about food.

 

Diversity is the spice of life and we like it spicy! The key to captivating interiors is introducing pieces from another land and extra points for a bygone era. In 2024, we're celebrating cultural diversity through design, with global influences and multicultural motifs taking center stage. Embrace the beauty of handcrafted textiles, artisanal ceramics, and traditional craftsmanship from around the world.

 

Is there anything better than a style piece from another country? There is no more perfect way to introduce charm & character than combining pieces from across the water.

 

Let it tell your story through aged patina’s & repurposed pieces that bring a sense of history & charm. There simply is nothing better.
