Care Guide
How to Care for Your BHM Home Pieces
At BHM Home, our handcrafted furniture and homewares are made from natural materials and traditional techniques, ensuring each piece is unique and full of character. To preserve their beauty and longevity, follow these simple care guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to dust regularly. For deeper cleaning, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and immediately dry with a clean cloth.
- Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or excessive water, as they can damage the natural wood finish.
- Moisture & Heat Protection: Use coasters, placemats, and trivets to prevent heat marks and water rings. Avoid placing furniture in direct sunlight or near heat sources to prevent fading or warping.
- Natural Finish Maintenance: If your piece has a raw, untreated wood finish, consider using a natural beeswax or furniture oil occasionally to nourish the wood and maintain its luster.
- Handling Reclaimed Wood: Many of our pieces are made from reclaimed materials, meaning natural imperfections are part of their charm. Avoid excessive force on joints and surfaces to maintain structural integrity.
